Advent is the celebration of Jesus's first coming and the anticipation of his second coming. This Advent season, we will reflect together on Jesus's purpose for coming and his method of ministry, in a sermon series entitled, The Son of Man Came...
In his book A Meal With Jesus, Tim Chester asks his readers to reflect on how they would complete the sentence, "The Son of Man came..." Maybe we'd finish the sentence with answers like preaching the word or healing the sick.
The New Testament gives three answers:
"The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)
"The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." (Luke 19:10)
"The Son of Man has come eating and drinking." (Luke 7:34).
We look forward to you joining us this Advent season as we reflect on Jesus's heart, his method of ministry, and his purpose for coming.
