Dear NewCity Family and Friends,

This past Sunday, August 20th I preached a sermon in our current sermon series in which I walked through the order of corporate worship expounding on why we choose to organize the liturgy as we do. We’ve seen in the last two sermons that corporate worship is a covenant renewal ceremony between the Lord and us. I taught that when God works in covenant relationship he calls, cleanses, consecrates, communes, and commissions His people. A significant part of covenant renewal is the fellowship meal, or communion where we eat with Jesus. In light of this, I announced that beginning in September we will be celebrating the Lord’s supper (communion) every week.
