Advent is a season of longing and expectation for the coming of the Lord. In the Advent season we look back to the birth of Jesus and look forward with expectation and longing for his return.
Our hearts long for more of God's presence. God's promise is to be with us. Over the next four weeks we will be tracing God's presence with His people throughout the Bible. Particularly we will explore God's dwelling with His people in the Garden, the Temple, the New Heavens and New Earth, and the Incarnation. Our purpose and satisfaction in life comes from the presence of God. We often seek these things in empty relationships, entertainment, praise from others, and much more. In this Advent season let us rest our weary hearts in the hope of God's promised presence which will one day cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.
