From Protest to Praise Slide.jpg

The Psalms are the church’s prayerbook. As we make them our prayers to the Lord, we learn to “pour out our hearts before Him” (Psalm 62:8). The Psalms give utterance to the kaleidoscope of human experience. Whether in the heights of joy or the heartache of pain, we can find words in the Psalms.

In this second Summer in the Psalms series, we will see how the book of Psalms moves us “From Protest to Praise”. Beginning with the lament of Psalm 3 and ending with the exuberance of Psalm 150, the Psalms train us in honest speech before God. Eugene Peterson says, “All prayer, pursued far enough, becomes praise.” We’re going to spend the month of June pursuing prayer from the depths of protest until it culminates in the peak of praise.
